MIVEC Optimizes Valve Function for Increased Fuel Economy, Performance, and Reduced Cost: Mitsubishi engineers reported a review of variable valve actuation and explained the advantage of early and late intake valve closure timing for fuel economy improvement. Subsequently, they reported the feature of the variable valve actuation system called the Mitsubishi innovative valve-timing electronic control system (MIVEC).
