SKU: 12009046 Fuel Pump System Tolerates Change in LPG Constituents and Reduced Power Consumption: Competing with the gasoline engine counterparts, the multi-point injection system for LPG in liquid phase was developed at Nikki to improve engine performance as well as exhaust emissions. Injecting LPG in liquid phase has the advantages of better control of fuel supply and higher volumetric efficiency in addition to an inherently higher octane number than that of gasoline. For seasonal and regional reasons, the constituents of LPG vary in order to maintain the LPG tank pressure required for fuel transfer of the conventional LPG engine equipped with a mixer-type fuel system. The multi-point LPG injection system in liquid phase was improved to tolerate the change in LPG constituents. Also, the fuel pump system was improved to reduce electric power consumption to levels comparable with a gasoline engine despite fuel injection pressure being as high as 3 MPa. The chapter consists of 7 pages including 8 figures.
