DME Combustion Produces Promising Emissions, Performance, Reliability, and Durability: Daihatsu Diesel in cooperation with JFE Engineering developed an electric power plant powered by a 1,250 kW diesel engine operating on DME. The plant was operated under daily start and stop conditions from October 2004 through September 2006. Engine performance, exhaust emissions, reliability, and durability were evaluated for a total of about 1,000 engine operational hours, and the effectiveness of the DME engine-powered electric power plant was reviewed.
