BIODIESEL COMBUSTION IN A HIGHLY BOOSTED DIESEL ENGINE WITH HIGH EGR
SKU: 12006045

Engine Tests Show Reduced Emissions in Biodiesel Compared to Diesel: Researchers at the New Advanced Combustion Engineering (NACE) and National Traffic Safety and Environment Laboratory have been developing a highly boosted (451 KPa) DI diesel engine with high EGR as part of "Next-Generation, Heavy-Duty, Low-Emission Vehicles," funded by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MLIT). This engine was operated on biodiesel fuel made of rapeseed methyl ester (RME) to characterize the effect of high intake charge pressure and high EGR on engine performance and exhaust emissions. The chapter includes 14 pages, 2 tables, and 12 figures.
